New BMW iX3 50 xDrive Brings 800-Volt Tech and Long Range for 2026
BMW places the 2026 iX3 50 xDrive at the front of a new electric phase. The model uses the Neue Klasse base and runs on an 800-volt structure. Two electric motors work together with a 108.7-kWh battery pack. Combined output reaches 463 horsepower, listed alongside 469 ps, while torque reaches 475 lb-ft, or 645 Nm.
Performance numbers stay clear. The sprint from zero to 62 mph takes 4.9 seconds. Electronic control stops speed at 130 mph. BMW also quotes a maximum driving distance of 500 miles under favorable use. Charging from 10 percent to 80 percent takes 21 minutes on a DC supply. In a ten-minute stop, with charging power up to 400 kW, the added range falls between 309 and 372 km.
The review vehicle came in Ocean Wave Blue metallic. M Sport Pro trim shaped the exterior specification, joined by optional 22-inch Y-spoke Style 1054 M bi-color wheels. Red high-gloss brake calipers stood behind the wheel spokes. BMW also added the Iconic Glow exterior package. Even with these extras, the design stays restrained, with little visual separation from a lower trim version.
Measurements place the length at 188.3 inches. Width reaches 74.6 inches, while height stands at 64.4 inches. The wheelbase measures 114.1 inches. Ground clearance reaches 6.9 inches. Aerodynamic drag sits at 0.24 Cd. Front track reads 64.1 inches and rear track 64.3 inches.
The cabin uses a wide digital layout. BMW places the Panoramic Vision display along the lower windshield area, while a central screen handles most controls. Standard equipment includes wireless phone charging, semi-autonomous driving functions, active safety systems, and power seat adjustment.
The tested unit added more equipment. M Sport seats were fitted, along with an M steering wheel in the regular spoke design. A panoramic sunroof with climate comfort glazing also appeared, plus ambient lighting, Parking Assistant Professional, three-zone automatic climate control, BMW 3D head-up display, and Harman/Kardon audio.
BMW used Adelaide Grey bi-color leather as part of the BMW Individual interior package. Cabin materials reflect recent brand choices, with more recycled surfaces and fewer classic trim inserts. Seat comfort received favorable comments after adjustment.
Storage remains practical. Rear luggage capacity reaches 18.3 cu.ft with the rear seats upright. Folding the rear bench opens up 62 cu. ft. A front compartment adds 2.0 cu.ft, or 58 liters.
Road impressions focused on ease of use. The body stays flat through corners, steering response feels clean, and the vehicle carries speed without effort. Comfort mode matched the overall character better than Sport mode during the drive. Romanian pricing begins at €65,461. The tested vehicle, fitted with €17,150 in extra equipment, reached €86,857.
