2016 BMW M2 M Performance Parts [+Video]

There is no doubt that, for the moment, the 2016 BMW M2 Coupe remains the carmaker’s favorite star amongst stars.

The BMW M2 Coupe is already a rather muscular vehicle that appears ready to jump into action. However, BMW has developed new M Performance Parts that have made this small M car look even more aggressive.

As far as I am concerned, these accessories enhance the already-extreme look of the M2 and turn it into a motorsports vehicle.

Aero Upgrades

Here, the M Performance Parts contain several new carbon fiber aerodynamic improvements. There’s also a new front splitter and rear diffuser for additional ‘lift’ reduction.

BMW has also incorporated carbon fiber mirror caps that enhance the other parts made of carbon fiber. The all-new carbon fiber rear spoiler seems like it is straight from the race track in terms of design.

There is an adjustable mode that acts as a default and triggers at 75 mph to provide more downforce. In my view, these aero bits take the exterior design of the M2 into the realm of sensationalism.

First Impressions: New Wheels

The overall designs of BMW MPerformance wheels are Never dull. The exterior changes for the M2 are new 20-inch forged wheels in a cross-spoke design for this BMW. It is available in black and gold bronze colors, both of which look striking against the M2’s color scheme. In my opinion, it makes the M2 have an even more powerful stance.

Interior Design

The interior does not remain plain or get left out, as they too undergo dressing-up sessions of their own.
It is not just the exterior parts—anything that is not the essential core of the product that is being manufactured by these companies.

The M Performance Parts do not stop at the exterior of the car, as has been seen with the M2’s interior. For the M2 logo on the seats, the owners can now customize their car to have Alcantara seats with the logo backlit. The same material is used for the steering wheel, gear shift, and the hand brake lever.

The stitching in the car can be red, blue, or white, which adds a motorsport appeal. To me, such components ensure that you feel special every time you take the M2 for a drive. Carbon trim and an LED door projector add a bit of flare to the interior too.

Built for Performance Driving

However, unlike many traditional accessories, these M Performance Parts are not just for aesthetics. Some of the aspects such as the suspension lowering spring kit, front brake pads, and the new exhaust system, also enhance the driving performance.

Thus, owners can fully take advantage of the high-performance and enjoyable driving that comes with track days and performance driving in their M2. Well, of course, that is in tune with the personality of the car as far as I am concerned.

On top of that, although it already has the M2’s great features, I think it can be further enhanced to be even better.
Out of the box, therefore, the BMW M2 is already a superb performance coupe by the books. It has up to 365hp, great handling, and a stunning design for a standard car.

However, through BMW M Performance Parts, one can take this process further with his/her machine. The aero upgrades give the M2 look a track-bred. The new wheels bestow upon it a new presence. As for the interior touches, it brings motorsport to mind.

For the M2 followers, these accessories allow for the creation of a more powerful car of the BMW brand. In my view, that is something I consider rather positive.
